More info about Jeffrey

I started Judo when I was 6 years old and karate when I was 10 back in the Netherlands practicing wadō-ryū. I then moved to shotokan in Helsinki when I was 20 years old and have been doing Shotokan ever since. My focus has always been on kumite because of the dynamic and strategic nature of the game and the fast decision making involved. Throughout the trainings I’ve made many friends all over Finland with whom I still actively train. In my trainings my aim is to push boundaries but keep the fun in every training session.

Facts

  • Various kumite medals in Finland, the Netherlands and other countries
  • Organised our first JKS Kumite camp in Helsinki led by 2 top athletes that were both top 3 in the world rankings

JKS Finland is a non-profit organisation and a karate club that looks after the Shotokan Karate style as developed by Tetsuhiko Asai Shuseki Shihan. Our dojo is located in Helsinki.
