Children's karate

Grow with us!

Build Confidence

Children develop self-confidence by learning new skills and achieving goals step by step.

Learn Respect

Traditional karate teaches discipline, good manners and respect for others in a positive training environment.

Stay Active

Fun and engaging classes help children develop coordination, balance and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

More Than Just a Sport

Children’s karate is much more than learning punches and kicks. It is a traditional martial art that supports a child’s physical, mental and social development through structured, enjoyable and age-appropriate training.

At JKS Finland, we offer two training programmes for young karate students. Karate Kids is designed for children aged 5–6 and includes one instructor-led class per week. Through games, movement exercises and basic karate techniques, children develop coordination, balance, body awareness and confidence while becoming familiar with the dojo environment in a fun and supportive way.

For children aged 7–12, we offer two training sessions per week, providing more opportunities to develop karate skills and build a strong foundation in traditional Shotokan Karate. Training combines kihon, kata, partner exercises and age-appropriate kumite, while encouraging concentration, discipline and respect in a positive learning environment.

Our goal is to help every child enjoy learning, experience success and discover the lifelong journey of karate at their own pace. Whether your child is energetic, quiet, athletic or completely new to organised sports, they will find a welcoming community where they can grow, make friends and develop valuable life skills.
